Today we visit the medieval town of Bayeux on route to our hotel in Dinan where we will be based for the next 3 nights. Bayeux is famous for its links with the Battle of Hastings invasion of 1066, which is retold in the Bayeux Tapestry, a UNESCO Memory of the World.
In the morning take a drive to the renowned Josselin Chateaux, a fairytale castle filled with antique memorabilia as well as formal gardens and doll museum. In the afternoon enjoy time to explore the idyllic ancient centre of Dinan at leisure.
Today we travel to nearby St Malo to hop on board the boat to Jersey Island. On arrival enjoy a half day island tour to include St Aubin’s Bay, St Brelade’s Bay, St Ouens beach and the medieval castle of Mont Orgueil. Later there will be an opportunity to explore St Helier at leisure before returning by boat to St Malo.
Depart from Dinan and today we will be exploring Mont St. Michel with its Benedictine Abbey, located on a little island less than 1km from the mainland. Enjoy your day on this wonderfully historic island before returning to Bayeux.
On our final morning in France enjoy a chance to explore Bayeux before the drive back to Cherbourg, with a visit to one of the Beach Museums on the way back. Take the evening ferry for your overnight return sailing back to Ireland.
Arrive back to Ireland and continue the journey to your original pick up location.
