Discover the rolling hills, beautiful villages and castles of the Cotswolds in this breath-taking Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. The Cotswolds are steeped in history and charm with tiny villages of thatched cottages, spired churches and picturesque countryside enchanting every visitor. Join us on this magical 6-day trip into the best of the Cotswolds, where you will visit Stratford-upon-Avon, home of William Shakespeare, as well as a visit to the renowned Blenheim Palace. Enjoy a day travelling through the rolling hills, villages and small market towns of the Gloucestershire Cotswolds and a visit to Oxford, the City of Dreaming Spires.
Your Holiday Itinerary
Day 1
On the first afternoon the group will travel to Wexford for an overnight stay.
Day 2
Today we will be taking the early morning crossing from Rosslare to the UK and begin our visit to the beautiful countryside of the Cotswolds. The group will be staying in Gloucester for the four nights.
Day 3
This morning we will explore Stratford-upon-Avon, the birthplace of William Shakespeare. During the day we will visit the homes of Shakespeares life, including Anne Hathaways Cottage and Shakespeares Birthplace. In the afternoon, enjoy a 45-minute cruise along the River Avon, cruising downstream past the Royal Shakespeare Theatre and Holy Trinity Church (the site of Shakespeares tomb).
Day 4
Today we will have a guided tour in Oxford with some free time to explore the City of Dreaming Spires at leisure. In the afternoon enjoy a drive through the Cotswolds, including the beautiful Stow-on-the-Wold and the Little Venice of the Cotswolds, Bourton-on-the-Water.
Day 5
After a leisurely breakfast we will visit the spectacular Blenheim Palace. Built in the early 1700s, this stunning country house is home to the 12th Duke of Marlborough and was originally a gift from Queen Anne to John Churchill, the 1st Duke of Marlborough. In 1987 it was designated a UNESCO World Heritage site. Enjoy a day to explore the palace, park and gardens.
Day 6
After a relaxing and scenic few days, we will board the coach one last time and make our journey back to Ireland by ferry.
