Heres a wonderful way to spend a few days with the opportunity to discover why Longleat is one of the UKs most popular visitor attractions on this Longleat & Wiltshire highlights tour. Drive through the famous safari park, and visit Longleat House, regarded as one of the best examples of high Elizabethan architecture in Britain. And if that wasnt enough, we take you to the World Heritage city of Bath, one of the most beautiful cities in the world as well as a visit to the architectural delights of Bradford on Avon.
Your Holiday Itinerary
Day 1
On the first afternoon the group will travel to Wexford for an overnight stay.
Day 2
Today we will be taking the early morning crossing from Rosslare to the UK before arriving at our hotel in Swindon.
Day 3
Today we take a leisurely drive through the Wiltshire countryside to visit Longleat, home to the 7th Marquess of Bath. Our visit begins as the coach drives through the famous safari park, where you may well see the renowned Longleat lions. We then visit Longleat House, widely regarded as one of the best examples of high Elizabethan architecture in Britain. Completed by Sir John Thynne in 1580, the house was visited by Elizabeth I in 1574. Afterwards, theres time to explore the magnificent gardens that were created by Lancelot Capability Brown, or perhaps take your chance in the famous Hedge Maze, the biggest in Britain, and made up of more than 16,000 English yew trees.
Day 4
Today we travel to Bradford on Avon, an architectural treasure chest with tiny weavers cottages, grand clothiers house, handsome buildings and ancient alleyways. In the afternoon we visit Bath, undoubtedly one of the most beautiful cities in the world. Nourished by hot springs, Bath offers stunning architecture, iconic attractions and great shopping.
Day 5
Today we will visit Stonehenge UNESCO World Heritage site, a prehistoric monument on Salisbury Plain. In the afternoon we travel on to Salisbury and a visit to Salisbury Cathedral, which boasts the tallest spire in Britain and is also home to the best preserved of the four surviving original copies of the Magna Carta. It also has the oldest working clock in Europe!
Day 6
We board the coach one last time and make our journey back to Ireland.
