Tuesday October 5th – Thursday October 7th 2021

The medieval city of Kilkenny is one of the most popular destinations in Ireland. The city lies on the banks of the River Nore and has so much to offer visitors, including the restored Castle taking pride of place in the centre. The city itself is surrounded with treasures, and during these three days our passengers will get to experience the Smithwicks Brewery and tour at Nicholas Mosse Pottery, visit the idyllic Rothe House and Gardens and enjoy a visit to the Medieval Mile Museum.

Your Holiday Itinerary

Day 1
On the way to Kilkenny we will stop in Cashel and visit the Rock of Cashel before arrival in Kilkenny in the afternoon for a tour of the Smithwick’s Experience with over 300 years of history stored within the Brewery.

Day 2
Today we have a full day of touring Kilkenny’s highlights. We start with a visit to the 12th century Kilkenny Castle, which has undergone several renovations over the past eight centuries. After some free time to explore the city we will step back in time in the Medieval Mile Museum, a famous trail of historic sites running through the city. Later, we will discover the nearby Rothe House and Gardens. Dating back to the early 1600s, this was the home of the renowned merchant, landowner and Mayor of Kilkenny City, John Rothe Fitz Piers, his wife Rose Archer, and their twelve children.

Day 3
Nicholas Mosse Pottery is renowned worldwide, and this morning we will visit the Nicholas Mosse Pottery. In the afternoon you will visit Nicolas Mosse Pottery and watch the potters and decorators at work through glass windows; see the potters and decorators throw the shapes, fire up the kiln, glaze, paint and sponge-decorate each individual piece of Nicholas Mosse pottery by hand.
