Small but perfectly formed, the Isle of Man offers heritage railways, coastal drives, museums, historic houses and its very own parliament. Steeped in fairytale and folklore, it has a delightful collection of tourist attractions, offering a variety of touring themes, and at only 30 miles long all are within easy reach of the fascinating capital, Douglas.
Your Holiday Itinerary
Day 1
Board your luxury coach and travel by ferry from Dublin to Holyhead before arriving in Chester for our first night.
Day 2
We take the ferry from Heysham and arrive at our hotel in the islands capital, Douglas. Enjoy an afternoon to explore the town at leisure.
Day 3
Today we will travel to the south coast to discover beaches, paths, monuments and historic buildings. We also visit historic Castletown, the ancient capital of the Isle of Man. It is also home to Castle Rushen, one of the oldest and best preserved medieval castles in the world.
Day 4
This morning, we spend time in the centre of Douglas where we visit the
Manx Museum to learn about the islands fascinating 10,000 year old history, after which we have time to explore the islands capital with its traditional horse-drawn trams that run along the promenade. In the afternoon we visit the west coast resort of Peel, with its flat sandy beach, marina, castle and smoked kipper factory. The House of Manannan museum, named after the islands mythological sea god, is also well worth a visit.
Day 5
Our journey today takes us on the Snaefell Mountain Railway. We board in Laxey and the train winds its way to the islands only mountain summt, Snaefell, where breath-taking views await over the Isle of Man, Ireland,
England and Wales. We then return to Laxey, home to probably the most famous landmark on the island, the great Laxey Wheel, the worlds largest working water wheel.
Day 6
After breakfast, we head home on the morning ferry back to Heysham and enjoy some free time in Chester in the afternoon.
Day 7
This afternoon we return to Ireland by ferry. Relax on your coach journey home.
