Galway, Connemara and The Aran Islands
Tuesday July 5th – Friday July 8th 2022
The Wild Atlantic Way route follows the western coastal route and pinpoints some of Ireland’s most spectacular locations, including some of the finest beaches in the world. The tourist trail uncovers some of the most beautiful and unexplored parts of Ireland. On this tour, we focus on Clare, Galway and Connemara National Park with a day trip to the Aran Islands.
Your Holiday Itinerary
We visit Brigits Celtic Gardens on our first day, a spectacular garden based on the celtic seasons and also where the tradition of making Celtic crosses continues. Later, we visit Ashford Castle, and enjoy a walk around the castle grounds before checking in to our hotel in Galway where we will be staying for the next three nights.
Today we take a drive through Connemara National Park to Leenaun and hop on board our boat at Killary Harbour for a cruise along Ireland’s only fjord. In the afternoon, enjoy time to explore Kylemore Abbey and the magnificent walled Victorian Gardens.
We will travel to the Clare coastline, starting with a visit to the Cliffs of Moher. Afterwards, take a ferry from Doolin to Inis Oír, the smallest of the Aran Islands. The Islands of Saints and Scholars are steeped in history and Irish culture and our passengers will have a chance to wander around the island and see first-hand the iconic low stone walls and little boithríns.
This morning enjoy some time at leisure in Galway City before we travel through county Clare, visiting the rocky and rugged landscapes of the Burren National Park.
