The Lake District is a walker’s paradise. During this 5-day holiday you will enjoy guided low level walking on paths and trails in some of the UK’s most stunning scenery. We have prepared a fantastic itinerary with a local Lake District walking guide for you to explore places where even the names inspire the imagination – Langdale Valley, Borrowdale Valley and Elterwater. *Suitable for the active low-level walker.
Your Holiday Itinerary
Travel by ferry from Dublin to Wales and along the stunning North Welsh Coastline to your hotel.
Coniston to Elterwater – Distance 12km. A lovely walk from Coniston to Elterwater, a pleasant and characterful village at the head of the Great and Little Langdale Valleys, taking in lake tarns, caves and ancient bridges.
Borrowdale Valley Walk-Distance 13km. Surrounded by some of the highest mountains in England, we often see trout swimming in the river as we walk through the ancient woodlands below Castle Crag, described by Wainwright as the loveliest square mile in Lakeland.
The Langdale Valley Walk – Distance: 11km. This walk offers glorious mountain views. Sticking to low levels, we will meander along tracks, paths and across pretty bridges while admiring the peaks and scattering of mountain lakes, known as tarns. In the afternoon we continue on to our hotel in Chester.
Enjoy some free time in Chester city centre before taking the ferry from Holyhead to Dublin, time to ponder the wonderful sights you have experienced during your holiday in the English Lake District!
